I really love all the rich layers, how you display it, keeping the original traditional Japanese feel with a nice touch of your own style, also how you manage to give an authentic feeling without being hystorically accurate with patterns! I always have a hard time with the patterns myself and end up randomly scribbing on the clothes. ^^'
your style is aboslutely amazing and uniquely beautiful...you really breathe life into traditional Japanese motifs and women of ages past, without losing their original appearance and feel...excellent!
Thank you!! I'm glad you appreciate her! I made the original drawing for my wife's grandmother,an adorable japanese old lady who put it in a frame in her room! Til now, this picture remains one of my favourite drawings and works like a "lucky charm" for me!
You're welcome ^^ And I did a little search when you gave the name of Goddes Benten... I thought that it was shamizen she's playing but it turned out to be biwa, it's a japanese mandolin. Thanks to you I learned that
That Goddess playing shamisen reminded me of a traditional style japanese drawing...I also checked other works of yours, they really good indeed. I like both French and Japanese artists.I love their drawing style the most. But know more about Japanese culture. 'cause of these I'll be watching your works!
Thank you for your kind comment!! In fact Goddess Benten from the 7 Fortunate Gods is often pictured as playing biwa(shamizen's ancestor) so I followed traditions!! And thanks also for the shamizen link(but I'm a real disaster in music or song...it's better I don't try ^^)
